Based in the medieval village of Dunster, The Yarn Market Hotel has a 2 night / 3 day folk break, with a programme of activities during the weekend including a dance at Willands wonderful village hall on the Saturday, with live music from Fresh Aire Ceilidh Band with caller Robert Blackborough. Also on Saturday is a trip out to Dulverton returning via Snowdrop Valley. The break is on a full board basis including Sunday lunch and transport for the dance and excursion. The dance is most suited to those with experience.

Come and Stargaze with us and Space Detectives @ the Poltimore Observatory in North Molton. Experience the darkness of Exmoor skies, enhance your knowledge and have the opportunity to look through and observe the heavens with the observatory telescopes. In the event of cloudy skies, all is not lost as we will include star hopping using a virtual sky as well as take you on a space related journey using our Virtual Reality headsets.
An evening celebrating everything the Exmoor has to offer: food, history, landscapes, ecology and stars. Weather permitting the evening will end with a short walk and stargazing the Exmoor sky. Alternatively viewing the Exmoor dark sky indoors using a planetarium. Please dress appropriately for the walk, also bringing waterproof footwear and a torch.
In this fun and friendly workshop you will discover the art of willow weaving, learning the basic skills and techniques to craft a lovely decorative willow heart. Willow weaving uses natural and environmentally-friendly materials, and in this workshop we will use a variety of coloured willows harvested from the grounds at Quince Honey Farm.
You will find yourself immersed in the wonderful world of willow weaving and finish with a lovely willow heart to take home and hang up on the wall, in the garden, or (if you can bear to part with it) give it as a gift to someone special. You are welcome to bring string or ribbon if you would like to decorate your willow heart further, the hearts will measure approx. 15 cm in length.

Pine martens in Exmoor - Evening TalkCome along to our next evening talk at Quince Honey Farm and learn more about the recovery of pine martens in the southwest and the reintroduction of this woodland species to Exmoor. Ali North, Field Officer at Devon Wildlife Trust, will talk about the importance of pine martens to our woodland ecosystems and provide an update on the Two Moors pine marten project, including insights learnt from animals released on Dartmoor last Autumn, and the next steps for bringing pine martens back to Exmoor.

Come along and experience Europe's First Dark Sky Reserve at the Exmoor Dark Sky Hub with locally based "Wild about Exmoor." Enjoy a 3 course meal, a short presentation and then a walk into the darkness. Complete with laser guided and telescopic observations. If it's cloudy we will use our Virtual Sky instead and stay in the warmth of the tearooms.
The Yarn Market Hotel in Dunster, based within Exmoor National Park, hosts a 3 night jazz weekend with entertainment each evening after dinner, the musicians are Sammy Rimington and John Shillito International Jazz Band.
Sammy Rimington is now coming up to 83-years old and is semi-retired. Just before Christmas, he phoned John Shillito to suggest that it would be nice if they could find an opportunity to make music together again. John Shillito is 86. Despite their ages, no one can accuse either of these men of “just going through the motions” This will be a remarkable celebration of long term musical skills and devotion to New Orleans Jazz with a full band of fantastic musicians.
Evening Jazz tickets are available for residents and non residents at £20.00 per night, or £50.00 for the 3 nights. Dinner and jazz tickets for non residents £50.00 per night.

Mark Asprey, retired, professional commercial photographer with a deep passion for landscape photography, will share his journey from studying at Filton College through to working with Smirnoff, Marmite, Starbucks, Nivea to name just a few. Mark will then explore his passion for incredible landscape photography on Exmoor. Whether you're an amateur or experienced photographer, this will be a fascinating and interesting chance to learn from a professional in his field.

Stargazing @ Holworthy Farm with Space Detectives is a warm and welcoming event with a 2 course home cooked farmhouse meal and he opportunity to gaze at the wonderous Exmoor Dark Skies from the edge of Wimbleball Lake. There is also the opportunity to stay overnight on a bed and breakfast basis.

The workshop includes 3 craft activities using beeswax which is made by our very own honeybees at Quince Honey Farm. A member of our Education Team will guide you through a range of techniques in order to craft 2 moulded candles, 2 rolled candles and 1 beeswax food wrap. You’ll learn about our honeybees too, how and why they make beeswax and the weird and wonderful things that we use it for! Our friendly instructor will be there every step of the way to guide you and make sure you have a wonderful crafting experience.

The 19c mineral line was built to carry iron from the Brendons to Watchet for shipment to South Wales. Spectacular remains are hidden in the hills. This is a one hour stroll to look at Langham Engine House, then a two hour walk down the steep miners' track to see Bearland Flue and other features connected with iron mining. We may visit Burrow Farm Engine House or Kennisham Hill.
