The 19c mineral line was built to carry iron from the Brendons to Watchet for shipment to South Wales. Spectacular remains are hidden in the hills. This is a one hour stroll to look at Langham Engine House, then a two hour walk down the steep miners' track to see Bearland Flue and other features connected with iron mining. We may visit Burrow Farm Engine House or Kennisham Hill.
A 4 mile circular walk (c. 2½ hours) through the ages, from the outskirts of Dunster village up to Bat’s Castle with amazing views of moorland, coast and woodland.

This is its 44th year, and over that time it has raised many £1000s for charity. Around 15 beautiful gardens, large and small, will be open, along with plant stalls, bric a brac, an activity in the beautiful Grade 1 listed church, and fabulous food in the Village Hall served all day.
The event is focussed around the village – its gardens, Village Hall, the skittle alley, and the church, with nice walks to the outlying gardens, car parking is also available near these. The village is a mile from Stogumber Station (with its own lovely wildlife garden) on the popular West Somerset Railway.
Dogs on leads are welcome in most areas. £10 (TBC) for both days (under 16s free)

An easy paced stroll to discover the wildlife of the wonderful habitats and landscapes around Porlock Weir. Starting at 2pm from the Exmoor Natural History Centre adjoining the car park. Every 3rd Thursday from May to September.
Do you love nature, being outdoors and getting your hands dirty? If so, this could be for you! Spend a morning learning a new skill in this hands-on 3 hour introduction workshop. You will learn the basic principles of how to build a traditional dry stone wall and/or retaining wall, using local stone, and how it will benefit wildlife and support a range of creatures and insects.
Dry stone walling is a positive and calming outdoors experience, and this workshop offers a great opportunity to learn a new skill, in the fresh air, surrounded by nature and wildlife. The course covers basic construction techniques for a Devon dry stone wall. You can work at your own pace, with plenty of opportunity for discussion, then stand back and admire your craftsmanship and enjoy a slice of cake and a hot drink for your hard work!
The workshop price includes full entry into Quince Honey Farm on the day of the workshop, so why not take the opportunity to join our tours and activities and find out about the wonderful world of honeybees too.

A traditional farmers market where you will discover a whole host of artisans and producers from across Exmoor, Devon and Somerset, as well as hot and cold refreshments and live music! An unmissable monthly summer event.
Join Exmoor National Park Rangers in the rockpools of Lynmouth. Together we will search for chitons, crabs, sea anemones and find out more about the amazing wildlife that lives on the seashore.
This site is very exposed so please dress for the weather. Water shoes or wellies encouraged. Nets, buckets and knowledge provided.
Attendance is free but if you would like to donate to CareMoor you can do so at Lynmouth National Park Centre opposite.
