Rise with the lark and join a local bird enthusiast bright and early on a guided walk around Ashcombe Gardens, Simonsbath to hear the delights of an Exmoor Dawn Chorus. Listen to the symphony of birdsong and learn how to identify the different species. Ideal for beginners and those with some knowledge of birds. The walk covers some uneven ground with some short inclines in places. Stout footwear essential.

Led by a ranger and one of the national parks’ woodland specialists, this walk will reveal the natural and historic features to be found along the valley of the River Barle above Tarr Steps. You will learn about the wildlife of the woods, river and meadows and discover how people have shaped the landscape. The walk is approximately 4 miles long, so anyone attending should have a reasonable level of fitness and bring suitable clothing, footwear, snacks and a drink.

For this special Farming and Wildlife tractor-drawn tour of West Ilkerton Farm we will be joined by Nigel Hester, who has worked in conservation and wildlife management on Exmoor for over forty years.
See a working hill farm and its wildlife from the comfort of a tractor-drawn trailer. Discover how farming and wildlife can work together. Lots to see and discuss. Some easy walking and rummaging in undergrowth are optional. £30 per person (includes tea). Suitable for people with reduced mobility, but the ride can be bumpy in places. Room for one wheelchair if needed. Numbers will be limited to a maximum of ten guests.

Join Unity and Anita for an early summer evening walk up Lorna Doone Valley, incorporating a full Shibashi Tai Chi routine of movements, accompanied by the soothing sound of a moorland river. The Shibashi Qigong is a series of gentle movements that improve and balance our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.
We will walk for 45 minutes on a fairly level but uneven footpath up this beautful valley to a tranquil open area for our Shibashi.
This event is suitable both for those who have never tried Tai Chi and those familiar with the practice. Nourish your mind, body and spirit with this relaxing evening event. £25pp Age 12 & over
Bring food and drink to sustain your walk back down the valley. Meet in the National Trust Car Park, pay to park or NT members free.
