ghs2023@onthehoofdt.co.ukWoody Bay Sea Pool dip
Woody Bay is a bit of an Exmoor secret. At low tide a tiny sea pool/large rock pool appears, partially constructed with concrete between huge boulders. It is big enough to swim in, so provides the perfect way to try a sea swim without the waves, but with a real sense of a real adventure. The bay has all the feel of a remote desert island, with a waterfall tumbling onto the beach.
We will meet above the bay to walk down steep footpaths through ancient oaks, clinging to the cliffs, down to the beach, approx 25 minute walk. Here we will make our way carefully over rocks to the sea pool, where we will immerse ourselves in the sea water left by the tide. After our dip we will share a hot drink (provided), and at our leisure embark on the slow climb back up to where we left our cars.
Cost £20 per person, participants should be confident swimmers. Children over 12 accompanied by a parent or guardian may attend if they are good swimmers. Bring snacks to sustain the walk back up.
