UPDATE 5th March 2025 following Storm Darragh:
#Storm Daragh hit Exmoor over the weekend of 6-8th December 2024 and caused havoc on our access network. Our staff along with many others including landowners have been working hard for weeks, checking and clearing rights of way across Exmoor. Many thanks to our path watchers and members of the public for all their reports of fallen trees across paths.
The South West Coast Path on Exmoor is now completely open between Minehead and Combe Martin. The Coleridge Way and Two Moors Way promoted walking routes are now clear (a short diversion is in place around a difficult root ball at Ladycombe near Lynmouth - please follow the National Trust’s signage on the ground). We still have a number of trees to clear on paths across the National Park and will get to these as soon as we are able.
Even where we have cleared paths, there is the possibility that more trees may have fallen or landslips have occurred so please take care if you are out and about and take note of any signage. Please report any issues to us by using our online reporting system (Explore Somerset - Rights of Way, Open Spaces and Area Management) or by email to access@exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We will update with more information as it becomes available.
